How does Autumn affect your skincare routine?

With all of these changes happening around us, developing a fall skincare routine is critical for maintaining your skin’s health

The sun has set on summer and we are now fully enjoying all that autumn has to offer from the smell of pumpkin in every direction we turn to the crisp mornings and a bright autumnal glow. Plus, the shorter days and colder mornings. Unfortunately, as the seasons change, so can your skin and the care it needs, making it imperative to adjust our skincare routines to accommodate these changes.

Sudden changes to your skincare routine

Changes that occur as we transition into fall can end up taking a toll on your skin, especially when weather conditions shift so drastically from day to day. It is no wonder your skin can’t keep up.

As the summer months fly by your skin starts getting used to the products that you are using and the weather and elements around it. Your skin starts to glow and look the best it ever has and you think you’ve got your routine down to tea. But, then just as quickly November comes around again and it all once again changes. With that, you might find your skin growing dryer, irritated and even feeling tight and in need of extra moisture. If you’re already struggling with skin concerns such as rosacea or acne, the cold weather can also irritate them even further and result in making your well-thought-out skincare routine a thing of the past. The changing climate can lead to dead skin cell buildup, which in turn results in trapped oil and bacteria beneath the surface, and increased breakouts. Plus, on top of this, you’re likely spending more time indoors with the central heating turned on high, leaving your skin lacking in hydration.

However, there are things you can do to combat the effects of the seasons changing and keep your skin looking as glowing and supple as it did throughout the summer months. To keep your skin looking hydrated, cleansed and rejuvenated we have put together our Autumnal Skincare Edit. Simply click the product you like the look of and add it to your basket to ensure you are one step closer to supple, hydrated skin all year round. It’s as easy as pumpkin pie!
